20^TH AND 21^ST CENTURY MUSIC FESTIVAL

ELIGIBILITY: Students of 6 to 18 years of age. No audition required.

REPERTOIRE:  Solo, 4-hand, duet and small chamber ensemble music in a 20^th or 21^st century compositional style. No music by composers writing in a romantic style will be accepted. Style definitions available. In case of duplicate entries, the first application received will be given priority. Memory optional in all cases (new rule).

PERFORMANCE TIME ALLOTMENT:
            - Elementary (6 to 10 years old): 1 to 3 pieces, 2 minutes
              maximum playing time.
            - Intermediate (11 to 14 years old): 1 to 3 pieces, 4 minutes
              maximum playing time.
            - Advanced (15 to 18 years old): 1 to 2 pieces, 6 minutes
              maximum playing time.

FEE: $20.00 for application and performance, non-refundable.

AWARD: A Certificate of Performance will be presented to each student.

DATES: Application: Friday, November 14, 2008, Concert: Sunday, December 7, 2008,3 pm, at the Yamaha Piano Salon, 689 Fifth Ave., 3rd Floor. Enter on East 54th Street.
